I don't think of my work as separate collections.
I think of them as chapters.
Each one belongs to a different part of my life.
That's what separates one collection from the next.
Not the colors.
Not the style.
Not even the subject.
The chapter behind it.
I never try to fit every idea into the same collection.
Some thoughts belong together.
Others need their own space.
That's usually how a new collection begins.
Every collection reminds me of where I was when I made it.
Not just the work itself.
The things I was thinking about.
The questions I kept asking.
The parts of life I was trying to understand.
When I look back at older collections, I don't just remember making them.
I remember the chapter they came from.
That's why I leave them as they are.
I don't want to rewrite old chapters.
I'd rather keep writing new ones.
